For over 35 years Michael Sanden has been building bespoke custom instruments in the picturesque rural town of Komstad, Sweden. These have helped him solidify his reputation as one of the most creatively innovative luthiers of his generation.

Michael has now collaborated with Tanglewood Guitars to bring his elegant designs and innovative craftsmanship to a larger market. A range of guitars built to precise Sanden blue-prints and incorporating some of Michael’s most functional and stylistic handcrafted features, these instruments take production guitars to a new level. High-grade, solid Sitka spruce tops are paired with either solid rosewood or solid mahogany backs and sides. The instruments feature Michael’s “paintbrush stroke” bridge, an unadorned headstock, a single stylised “T” inlay on the 12th fret of the fingerboard, and a zero fret.
